Wood engraving workshop 21-22 /8/2021

An educational wood-engraving workshop for adults will take place on the weekend of August 21 and 22, 2021 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the Museum of Typography. The workshop will be held within the framework of the art project of Euripides Papadopetrakis "Organic Monuments" and the initiative "Open Sails", by the Municipality of Chania.

Participants will come in contact with the technical methods of wood-engraving (drawing-engraving-printing), as well as with the equipment, creating their own engraving. The purpose of the workshop, in addition to the acquaintance with engraving, is the thematic identification on the occasion of the "Organic Monuments". The workshop is accompanied by a tour of the Museum.

Day 1: Guided tour, presentation, contact with the equipment.

Day 2: Idea presentation, design, engraving, printing.

The workshop is led by the visual artist-engraver Evripidis Papadopetrakis and is addressed to young people 18+ and any adult with an interest in the visual arts.

The exhibition “Organic Monuments” will take place at the Centre of Mediterannean Culture (Grand Arsenal), in the old harbour of Chania, from the 27th of August until the 10th of September 2021.
